Course Description

Integrating RADIUS & 802.1X Authentication with Microsoft 2003 Server  is a 2-day workshop course providing a hands-on introduction to preparing and configuring a Windows 2003 server for deployment into an 802.1x LAN or WLAN environment.

Target Audience

This course is intended for network professionals who wish to integrate 802.1x security with a Windows 2003 server.

Course Prerequisites

This course is intended for professionals with and understanding of data networking, wireless LANs, 802.1x, certificates and RADIUS. Additionally some exposure to configuring Windows XP and Windows Server would be advantageous.

Course Description

The course begins by reviewing the operation of RADIUS, 802.1x and Certificates and then moves onto building a Windows 2003 server from a basic configuration, creating a Domain Controller with Active Directory, and then enabling and configuring DHCP, DNS, IAS, and certificate services.

  • Operation of RADIUS authentication & VSAs

  • Operation of 802.1x, EAP and certificates

  • Configuring a Domain Controller and Active Directory

  • Setting up network services: DHCP & DHCP Options, DNS & Forward Lookup Zones

  • DHCP & DNS options for WLAN controller discovery

  • Creating and configuring IAS policies for RADIUS authentication

  • Setting up and using certificates with EAP-TLS & PEAP-MSCHAPv2
