EIRN-300/2: ExtremeXOS: Implementing Redundant Networks 

Course Description

The ExtremeXOS  Implementing Redundant Networks (EIRN)  training class provides instructor-led lectures and extensive laboratory exercises. The course presents the concepts and commands required to configure redundancy features available with ExtremeXOS 12.1.

Target Audience

The primary audience for this course are network switch administrators tasked with implementing network redundancy in an Extreme Networks switch environment. This course is also a prerequisite for ENS certification.

Course Prerequisites

  • ExtremeXOS: Operation & Configuration (EXOC-200/5)

  • Solid theoretical and practical understanding of networking basics, including: TCP/IP addressing/ masks, bridging, and other LAN fundamentals

  • Hands on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Extreme Network switches

Overall Objectives

  • Describe benefits of redundant network

  • Identify ExtremeXOS 12.1 features that enable network redundancy

  • Describe and configure a basic redundant network

  • Describe and configure a Spanning Tree protocol (STP) network

  • Describe and configure Ethernet Automatic Protection Switching (EAPS)

  • Describe and configure a Virtual Router Redundancy Protocol (VRRP) network

  • Describe and configure a Extreme Standby Router Protocol (ESRP) network
