EIAS-300/2: ExtremeXOS: Implementing Advanced Security 

Course Description

The ExtremeXOS Implementing Advanced Security (EIAS) training class provides instructor-led lectures and extensive laboratory exercises. The course presents the concepts and commands required to secure Extreme Network switches and control traffic within a network.  The course is based on ExtremeXOS 12.1.

Target Audience

The primary audience for this course is network switch administrators tasked with securing and controlling the traffic in an Extreme Networks switch environment. This course is also a prerequisite for ENS certification. 

Course Prerequisites

  • ExtremeXOS Operation & Configuration (EXOC-200/5) 

  • Solid theoretical and practical understanding of networking basics, including: TCP/IP addressing/ masks, bridging, and other LAN fundamentals

  • Hands on experience installing, configuring, and troubleshooting Extreme Network switches.

Overall Objectives

  • Identify the steps necessary for securing a network

  • Identify potential threats to the network

  • Describe and configure switch access options

  • Describe and configure port based security

  • Describe and configure MAC-based security

  • Describe and configure DoS-Protect

  • Describe and configure Network Login

  • Describe and configure Access Control Lists (ACLs)

  • Describe and configure  CLEAR-Flow

  • Describe and configure policy-based Quality of Service (QoS)
